Clove. (4) Taste: Starts with sweet bread, raisins, bitter oranges and some yeast. (4) Palate: Medium low carbonation, soft texture, medium body. (3.5) Overall: A nice sourish brew. Beer produced by Heineken, NL Appearance: A clear chestnut brown brew with small bubbles, a warm yellow-white high head that leaves little lacing, but good curtains. (4) Aroma: Smelling malty, molasses, fudge and syrup. (3) Taste: A sweet brown bread ("vörtbröd") and porridge start, brown syrup. A hint of oranges. (3.5) Palate: Little carbonation, soft and thick texture, a big body and a slightly dry finish. (3.5) Overall: A malt bomb, a bit too much maybe. (2.5) Bottle 330 ml, at Hilton CDG. |

(4) Aroma: The smell is complex, lots of sweet malty tones, spices (cardamom, cumin), sourness (lemon, sour milk), grass and hay. (4.5) Taste: Mostly sweet tones, caramel, some licorice, a bit salt caviar, and a bitter tang at the end. (3) Palate: Mildly carbonated, rather smooth and a dry finish. (3) Overall: This is a hard to judge beer, it looks and smells very nice, but the taste is a bit to sweet for me. (3.5) bottle |
