Beer produced by Brouwerij Drie Fonteinen, BE Appearance: The beer is clouded dark orange, almost brown. A small off-white head, no lacing, good curtains. (4) Aroma: The smell is reminding me of crayfish with dill, some brown sugar, vinegar and yeast. (4.5) Taste: There is a malty sweetness as of brown hard bread, crayfish shells, some what fruity, ripe apples and dried pears. (4.5) Palate: Medium high carbonation, micro bubbles, a soft and complex body, a dry finish. (4.5) Overall: This beer has lots of smell, lots of taste, very interesting and rewarding. (4.5) Bottle, sampled at an Drie Fonteinen tasting at De Klomp, Linköping, Sweden. |

Beer produced by Brouwerij Lindemans, BE Appearance: The beer is slightly foggy amber, the head tan with uneven bubbles, leaving a few lacings. (3.5) Aroma: The smell is earthy and sour, as should, dusty cellar, sour milk and a hint of white vinegar. (4) Taste: Tasting sweet, sugar, then acidity like rhubarbs and vinegar, finishing of with a seed bitterness. (3.5) Palate: Small carbonation, but lively small bubbles, sugary but with a dry finish. (3.5) Overall: A bit to sweet for me, but otherwise nice. (3.5) Bottle, beertasting at De Klomp. |
