Beer produced by BrewDog, UK/S Appearance: A clouded amber colored beer. A off-white head with good lacing and good curtains. (3.5) Aroma: Smelling of bread, banana, spices and yeast. (3.5) Taste: Tasting bread, pear, spices, clove, apple peel and yeast. (3) Palate: Medium carbonation, a soft texture. A medium body with a dry finish. (3.5) Overall: A bit unbalanced towards spicyness without hops. (3) Bottle 330 ml at home. |
Beer produced by Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan, DE Appearance: A clear light orange/amber beer, a very big white head leaving good lacing and some curtains. (3.5) Aroma: The smell is spicy (cardamom, coriander, clove), citrus fruits (lemon, lime), ans some sugary sweetness. (3.5) Taste: The taste is spicy and citric. Lime with gingerbread. (4) Palate: Light carbonation, a fresh feeling rather watery. (3.5) Overall: A beer for a warm summers day. Compared to the hefe big brother it however has less smell, taste and body. Beer produced by Erdinger Weissbräu, DE Appearance: A crystal(!) clear pale straw colored brew, very few bubbles, a thick white head that recedes slowly and leaves some lacing. (3.5) Aroma: The smell is rather weak, sweet citric (lemon/orange), some general spiciness, a bit of bready yeastiness. (3) Taste: Some sett bread upfront, lemon sourness, a light zesty bitterness at the end. (3.5) Palate: Medium carbonation, a smooth and pleasant mouth feel. (3.5) Overall: All in all - a bit tame, and a bit too sweet to be really thirst quenching. (3) Bottle. |
