(3.5) Palate: No carbonation, fresh, soft and slightly oily, a warm feeling. (3.5) Overall: This is a very special beer, like other strong barrel aged ones it is best after dinner, as a strong wine. (4) Aroma: Earthy aromas, dirt, leather, fruits, apricots and pears, a whiff of sour cream, yeast nuances. (4.5) Taste: Sweet dextrose and fruity notes initially, then sour milk, bitter cherry seeds. (4) Palate: Medium small carbonation, very small bubbles, a smooth and slightly alcoholic texture, a coarse dry finish. (4) Overall: A bit raw, but a good representative for the style anyway. (4) Bottle in CA. |
