(4) Aroma: Smelling of sweet bread, honey, sherry and egg batter. (4) Taste: Tasting sweet brown bread, sherry, orange marmalade peel and oak. (4) Palate: Low carbonation, a soft texture. A big body with a slightly dry finish. (3.5) Overall: In all an exquisite barley wine. A bit young though. (4.5) Bottle 650 ml. |

(4) Aroma: Smelling of almonds, grape-fruit, pine and resin. (3.5) Taste: Tasting toffee, sweet bread and grape-fruit peel. (4.5) Palate: Low carbonation, a soft and oily texture. A big body with a somewhat dry finish. (4) Overall: Well done, well balanced and heavy. (4.5) Bottle 650 ml at a De Klomp tasting. |

(4) Aroma: Smelling like banana bread or sweet soft gingerbread, vanilla and Christmas spices. (4.5) Taste: Starting like ginger bread dough, sweet ice cream, vanilla and coconut. (4) Palate: Medium carbonation, slightly foamy bubbles, soft and sticky texture. (4) Overall: For me very much Christmas spice associations in this beer, a dessert alternative at Yule! (4) Bottle 650 ml at De Klomp tasting. Same recipe as last year. |

Beer produced by Southern Tier Brewing Company, US/NY Appearance: The beverage is black with a brown base, a tan light head, heavy curtains. (4) Aroma: The taste is an explosion in chocolate, small dark notes and large milk chocolate booms accompanied by synthetic banana aromas. Very much chocolate covered banana foam candy. Other chocolate, vanilla and cherry candy is there as well. (3.5) Taste: The taste is rather consistent with the smell, but there are bitter coffee notes that balances the chocolate. (4) Palate: A small carbonation, oily and smooth texture, an enormous body with a pleasant dry finish. (4) Overall: This beer is a very good dessert - in itself, and if you like chocolate you're in for a treat. (4.5) Bottle at a De Klomp beer tasting. |

Beer produced by Southern Tier Brewing Company, US/NY Appearance: The beer is slightly hazy golden amber, has a large firm off-white head that leaves little racing. Good lacing. (4) Aroma: The smell is sweet, tropical fruits, melon, pine-apple and jelly bean fruit aromas. (3.5) Taste: Tasting initially sweet, toffee, brown bread, then lemon and grape-fruit accompanied by a tropical fruit salad, some herbal nuances and bitter grape-fruit peel. (4.5) Palate: Medium carbonation, slightly oily, a big body and a coarse dry finish. (4) Overall: A very well packaged hop soup, much to discover in it! (4) Bottle at a De Klomp beer tasting. |

(3.5) Palate: Medium small carbonation, small bubbles, soft and refreshing, medium body. A long dry finish. (4) Overall: A good craft beer, very well balanced and rewarding. (4) Bottle 355 ml at blind tasting at De Klomp. |

(3.5) Aroma: The smell has grape-fruit peel in it, some wet grass and dry discreet pine needles. (4) Taste: Tasting sweet, brown sugar and dark bread, upfront, then the grape-fruit peel with slightly crushed seeds. (4) Palate: Medium high carbonation, a soft fluid with a good body and dry finish. (4) Overall: A nice solid AIPA, a good bitterness and good balance, (4.5) Bottle at beer sampling at De Klomp. |

Beer produced by Southern Tier Brewing Company, US/NY - Imperial Oatmeal Stout Appearance: Very dark brown, mostly black, a beige head. The beer leaves good curtains. (4.5) Aroma: This beer is smelling of roasted bread, dried fruit and dark chocolate. (4) Taste: The taste is very sweet, dark toast with fig marmalade, vinous notes - Madeira. (3.5) Palate: Little carbonation, a complex but smooth body. (4) Overall: Despite the sweetness a nice beer. Most suited as dessert. Wonder how it goes with vanilla ice-cream? (3.5) bottle - tasted at a beer sampling at De Klomp, Linköping, Sweden. |

Beer produced by Southern Tier Brewing Company, US/NY - Imperial Summer Wheat Beer Appearance: The beer is golden brass, somewhat hazy, a white small head, leaving nice curtains. (4.5) Aroma: The smell is distinctly American hops, centennial, fruity grassy, bitter oranges and grape-fruit. (4) Taste: Upfront a slight toffee flavor, good somewhat spicy acidity, and a lot of bitterness. (4.5) Palate: Medium carbonation, refreshing and smooth, but with a dry finish. (4) Overall: A really nice American Wheat - which is normally not my favorite style. But this was more hoppy and crisp. (4) bottle.Sampled at a "blind" beer tasting at De Klomp, Linköping, Sweden. We did not nail it. |
