Apperance: The brew is dark brown and clear, a frothy tan head leaving loads of lacing. Good curtains. (4)
Aroma: Very heavy dark dried fruits in sherry, a whiff of cold coffee, quite charming. (4)
Flavor: Tasting sweet, brown sugar, dark syrup, dried dates and figs, sherry and Madeira, dark dry chocolate. (4)
Palate: Medium carbonation, very small foamy bubbles, a soft, oily and slightly sticky texture, yet a modest dry finish. (4.5)
Overall: A really nice and smooth stout, not very dry and not very hop dominated. (4)
