Apperance: A clouded deep amber, a warm yellow-white firm head that leaves good lacing and there are good curtains. (4.5)
Aroma: The smell is sweet plums, ripe pears, eggnog, lemon zest. (3.5)
Taste: Starts very sweet, brown sugar, plum marmalade, a bit boozy and a sharp bitter almost metallic finish. (3)
Palate: Medium low carbonation, smooth, sticky and finishing sharply dry at the back of the tongue. (3.5)
Overall: We're not there yet, once again I tried a barley wine that is far too young, and too American. (3)
