Black IPA Oxymoron

Apperance: The brew is pitch black with a tan head that settles leaving good lacing. Good curtains. (4)
Aroma: Smelling intensely off black coffee, dark chocolate, grape-fruit peel and dried peas. (4)
Taste: Starting dry burned wood, strong dark coffee notes, lemon peel, pine resin, intense hop character. (3.5)
Palate: Medium carbonation, sticky and oily, a long dry finish. (4)
Overall: A good interpretation of the very hard Black IPA style. A style which too me nearly always is too much. (3.5)
