Apperance: The beer is dark brown, not entirely black. The head is tan, small bubbles and leaves lots of lacing. (4)
Aroma: The smell is vinous, sweet dates, yeast. (3.5)
Flavor: Upfront very sweet, dried fruits, dark bread, brown sugar, then acidity, ripe fruit, then some bitterness. (3.5)
Palate: Low carbonation, a full body, sweet and complex. A dry finish, rather short. (4)
Overall: Very complex, needs some cheese as balance. (4)
