Apperance: The beer is black with hint of brown, a tan, nearly brown head, no lacing but good curtains. (4)
Aroma: The smell is earthy, wet clay, cheese. A faint sweet odor. (4)
Taste: Upfront it is tasting sweet, a bit vinous, then roasted tones, nuts and licorice. (4)
Palate: Small carbonation, a big and complex body, a dry finish. (4)
Overall: A good balance, and this is a much more rewarding stout than e.g. a Guinness. (4)
