Apperance: The beer is clear, brown or very deep amber, a large tan head with small even bubbles that settles slowly and leaves good lacing. (4)
Aroma: The smell is partly sour licorice, some Christmastime spices and sweet dried fruits. (4)
Taste: The taste is initially sweet and then quickly rather strong spicy, clove, anisette, and bitter cocoa beans. (3.5)
Palate: Medium carbonation, small rather lively bubbles, medium body and a coarse dry finish. (3.5)
Overall: A bit uneven, the spiciness is a notch too much, maybe some storing would round it off. (3)
