Apperance: the beer is dark brown, almost black, nearly no head, no lacing. Looks stale. (2)
Aroma: The smell is sweet, vanilla, sugared roasted oats, some earthy nuances. Old wood. (3.5)
Taste: Sweet roasted malts, raisins, a bit of licorice. Sour grapes. Some faint bitter coffee bean notes. (3)
Palate: Very low carbonation, very small bubbles, a bit oily, good body, dry finish. (4)
Overall: It feels very uneven, and something is lacking, can't really put my finger on it ... but it has it's upsides as well. (3)
